Are you wondering who that beautiful woman is on my home page and why she’s there? (She’s not me…definitely not me…not in my wildest imagination.)
What you see is a life-sized cutout of Lisa Malouf Medford who was, among many other things, the first nude showgirl in Vegas, Cary Grant’s lover, a Hollywood “darling,” and an Emmy-nominated Producer. Lisa and I are collaborating to bring you her life story: I Can Hear the Applause: Memoirs of a Vegas Showgirl. We’re very excited about it!
The new book is still a “work in progress”, but it’s getting closer and closer to “The End.” I’ll let you know as soon as it’s done, printed, and on-the-shelves. I was asked about the “leap” I’ve made in writing—from leadership books to sensational memoirs. “That’s not exactly the same genre, Jeanne.” Actually it’s closer than you might think. You know (from reading my books) that I’ve always admired strong women. Well, here’s another one! I wrote my first two books because I believe that everyone should be given every opportunity to be “all that they can be.” Well, there ya’ go—Lisa was “all that she could be.” From the first time I heard her life story, I knew I had to write it so that we could all re-live it together.
